Aloe Vera- Nature's Panacea

Sunday 06/01/2025 3:03pm

Waking up on this beautiful morning, I went straight into a meditation and breathing exercise, and came out feeling immersed in energy and creativity.  Speaking of creativity, it's not easy to find your happy medium, a space of perfect harmony and balance. As the great Albert Einstein said, "Creativity is intelligence having fun." However, to see that space of intelligence and creativity, a healthy lifestyle is essential, as well as a healthy perspective on things, to spark that interest. I will cite my research sources at the bottom of the page to ensure credit is given where credit is due, so let's dive into it today! Drugs and alcohol can be categorized as living a secondary or secret 'secular lifestyle', contrary to the 9-5, many people rely on drugs and alcohol to get by in life, or to even handle their 9-5 job. What do I mean by that? According to an article written by Abraham Phillip, "Learn To Live A Blessed Life Free of Addiction," he had these staggering statistics, which I agree with. He said, "Addiction is a craving for a substance or engaging in behavior even though it can cause psychological and physical harm, even legal consequences."  I, being on that side of the fence, with addiction and trouble, that statement in my opinion is accurate. Why is it correct? According to the numbers, Australian researchers state that 240 million people worldwide depend on alcohol, while 1 billion smoke cigarettes. Fifteen million people use illicit drugs, with many more contemplating trying them for the first time. The question arises, how does addiction become an addiction for someone? Dependence develops when the desire to take a substance becomes strong and takes hold of certain brain portions responsible for maintaining sense and logic. Addiction becomes full-blown when craving hijacks parts of the brain that reward behavior and benefit consumers. Then, what is known as tolerance comes into play, where the human body and mind build up a tolerance to the feeling of that brain hijack, requiring you to use more and more until eventually you're used to breaking even, at best. Or be sick and or extremely depressed without it. As the great parable goes, and as I said in my blog the other day, two people are walking down the street, and they see two different things. In other words, one person has color in their eyes and sees beauty, while the other person sees only black and white. That can be a great comparison between someone who is on drugs and alcohol and someone who is not.
As someone who has battled substance abuse issues, my goal is to reach an audience looking for help. In just one of many areas, I discovered something that researchers and scientists have been studying regarding the human mind and body, as well as recovery. Here is what they found, and here is what I have learned, based on my time spent pursuing a healthier lifestyle, trying Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera is a medicinal plant that grows in hot climates. It contains more than 75 active ingredients, including enzymes, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, making it helpful in treating diseases. Aloe Vera is best known for its ability to treat skin injuries, but it also has several other potential health benefits. Maybe that's why I look so good. Kidding. However, I have noticed a significant improvement in my acne, as well as an increase in brightness and color on my face, and a reduction in redness and clarity in my eyes. I look sharp and younger, creating a psychological reaction in my brain on the famous saying, "If you look good, you feel good." Some people use aloe vera gel as a home remedy to treat burns and other skin conditions, as well as to aid in wound healing. It is promoted as a natural remedy for diabetes, heartburn, and inflammatory bowel syndrome (IBS).
The leaf itself contains a yellow liquid called aloe latex. It can not only reduce swelling in the skin, relieve redness and itchiness, but also promote the growth of new skin cells. If extracted correctly, it has even more positive side effects. For example, aloe vera, cholesterol, and blood pressure. As someone who was diagnosed with high blood pressure and high cholesterol when I was 26, because of bad choices and a sedentary lifestyle, I found the remedy of aloe vera to be what pills could not. My cholesterol count was between 280 and 300. My blood pressure was an astonishing 140/95. I started extracting aloe vera and incorporating it into my water, as well as using it on my face and body during showers. Here's what I learned after a solid year of attempting to live correctly and healthily. My cholesterol count, as last checked a couple of months ago, was under 200, roughly 180. Those 100 points might not sound like much, but the doctor told me that after the pills did not help, I would be lucky to live till I was 60. Combined with the ridiculously high blood pressure was a recipe for disaster and a ticking time bomb to my overall health and well-being. And for anyone who has experienced high blood pressure issues, it is just as physical as it is mental, and it is a rough way to go about your day. Even rougher in the mornings, let's say after a night out drinking. Today, my blood pressure is 120/70, give or take, and I feel amazing. So amazing, my hands don't even shake when I'm nervous. The plant extract helps lower levels of unhealthy low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides, a type of fat. While also boosting heart-healthy high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol. Researchers think aloe vera works by reducing the amount of cholesterol that the intestines absorb.
Which leads me into my next segment, aloe vera and constipation. This is a subject any health freak can get behind because there is nothing worse or healthier than the gut. Any gym guru will tell you that drinking a gallon of water a day can help keep the doctor away. I say that drinking a gallon of water mixed with aloe vera can change your life. As someone who has family members who take medication for constipation, like my father, I say you don't wish that type of disease on your worst enemy. A disease where stool softeners don't seem to do the trick. As well as myself, who played division 1 baseball, and have dealt with many injuries as a baseball player my whole life, was once addicted to pain medication, because of my surgeries, did a great deal of harm to my gut and regular bowel movements. Aloe vera's juice and aloe latex are promoted as a treatment for constipation. Aloe contains substances such as barbaloin that act as a laxative. But it is a very mild laxative. Barbaloin increases the amount of water in the intestine, which can make bowel movements easier to pass and aid digestion, particularly for individuals who exercise regularly. I make sure to drink a gallon of water per day, along with aloe vera, and I have noticed a significant increase in energy, especially in the morning, as well as improved regular bowel movements and better digestion, which contributes to overall energy levels.
Speaking of energy, I catch myself saying I am a health freak because I do drink the occasional Red Bull. My research, or the study of it, is for informational purposes, coming from someone who has struggled in other areas of their life. And, by no means, should I be considered perfect, nor should you follow my instructions exactly. As always, take my words at face value and do your own research. But some studies show that aloe vera juice may help lower blood sugar levels in people with diabetes and prediabetes. Hence, the red bull I occasionally drink. I am blessed to not have diabetes, but I have family members who are not so lucky.  Researchers say that substances in aloe vera repair damaged cells in the pancreas that produce insulin, the hormone that helps control blood sugar levels, as well as aiding the body's response to insulin. As someone who can feel blood pressure levels are abnormal, mixed with the occasional cholesterol problems, aloe vera has helped me significantly in mitigating those problems or concerns, and I feel better.
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) causes symptoms such as diarrhea and abdominal pain. Studies have shown IBS to be an imbalance of good and bad bacteria in the gut. Aloe vera may help with this. In one study, in an attempt to control that, people with IBS who took an herbal supplement containing aloe vera for 4 weeks had less constipation, diarrhea, belly pain, and gas. Other people with IBS who drank aloe vera juice said some of their symptoms improved. Scientists are still determining their findings on this. I, who have dealt with constipation from prescription pills, as well as diarrhea from drinking alcohol, find that aloe vera provides me with a comfortable bowel movement every single morning at the same exact time every morning. Of course, the elimination of prescription pills as well as the elimination of alcohol did a great deal of help to my overall health.
As a wise researcher once told me when I asked, aloe vera is not a miracle plant. It is not like the movie where your entire life changes because of the consumption of aloe vera. It is simply an aid to a healthier lifestyle. Because I pride myself on mental clarity and the study of brilliant philosophers and scientists, I make sure to integrate meditation, prayer, reading, running, working out, and breathing exercises, as well as the consumption of aloe vera, to help guide me to the best path possible. My studies and research lead me to believe that aloe vera is a phenomenal alternative to pills or nothing at all. I am 33, going on 34 today, and, as I previously mentioned, I feel better than I did at 18. Is it because of aloe vera? Possibly, but you combine everything good and sprinkle a little aloe vera on top, as well as the tremendous benefits I'm seeing with my skin, which makes me look younger every day. Literally, my face has zero wrinkles. I give aloe vera an A+ for starters.
For my health guru's, as far as nutrition goes, one 8-ounce serving of pure aloe vera juice includes: Calories:10, Protein grams, Fat: 0 grams, Carbohydrates: 2 grams, Fiber: 1 gram, Sugar: 0 grams, Calcium: 74 mg, Sodium: 60mg and Potassium: 110mg.
Lastly, for those of you wondering how much to use to get started on your healthy diet. It is recommended that the suggested amount to use varies, but a leaf gel cap is typically used at 50 to 200 mg per day. Liquid:30 milliliters. Tincture: 15 to 60 drops a day mixed with juice or water. Topical: Apply three to five times a day. Please stay away from extremely high levels of oral doses of aloe extract because my study shows it can be damaging to the kidneys. However, I have maintained a moderate diet, incorporating proper amounts of regular purified drinking water and unsweetened tea, with no added sugar, for the past year, and I feel amazing. And because my body is starting to feel amazing, my mind is also showing signs of clarity. The last thing I will say is that without the help of testosterone, my subsequent research report will be over the use of Peptides. With the help of that, I have managed to gain 25 pounds of muscle in just six months. I am stronger and faster in the gym. I went from weighing 170 pounds to 195 pounds. And just yesterday, I ran a mile in 7:30, something I haven't done since my baseball days.  I look forward to sharing that study with you next time!
As always, I love you, God loves you, and your body and mind will love you if you put in a little research and study for your overall well-being and health. And that is one of many health reports for you today. Until next time, world, thank you, and God Bless.
